Mar 18, 2020

Tulsa is calling on establishments to close.

The sweeping executive order from Mayor G.T. Bynum was given yesterday afternoon calling on bars, restaurants and entertainment venues to close.

Restaurants and bars with takeout and curbside food service can continue to offer those services.

Entertainment venues affected by the executive order include gyms, movie theaters, bowling alleys and bingo halls.

The Oklahoma City Archdiocese is suspending public mass through Easter Sunday. Archbishop Paul Coakley is directing all Catholic churches to cancel public masses and liturgies through April 12th.

The Archdiocese of Oklahoma City is comprised of 107 parishes encompassing two-thirds of the state.

Attending Sunday Mass is an obligation for Catholics but Coakley said he is acting to protect at-risk parishioners and to slow the spread of COVID-19.
