Governor Kevin Stitt announced Wednesday that the state is critically low on testing kits for COVID-19. The state is down to about 100 kits.
"We have been and we will continue to be pushing very hard with the federal government to get more of those test kits into the state," said Stitt.
Stitt asked medical providers to prioritize people who are critically at risk of having complications from the novel coronavirus. That includes people who live in nursing homes. Oklahoma had its first case of a nursing home resident in Ponca City testing positive with COVID-19 Wednesday. An infant also tested positive for the virus, though the child is not yet showing symptoms.
