Oklahoma health officials report new cases of COVID-19 increased by 993 on Tuesday, representing the state's largest single-day increase in new cases. That's nearly a five percent increase in total reported cases, with the state's total now at 21,738.
Four new deaths were reported, bringing the state's death toll to 428. They are as follows:
- Two in Tulsa County, one female in the 18 - 35 age group and one male in the 50 - 64 age group.
- One in McCurtain County, male in the 65 or older age group.
- One in Oklahoma County, female in the 65 or older age group.
Oklahoma has totaled 4,518 new cases of the coronavirus in the past seven days, an average of 645 per day.
16,635 people — more than 76 percent of the total cases — have since been classified as having recovered from the virus. 546 Oklahomans are currently hospitalized as either confirmed positive COVID-19 cases or under investigation for the virus.
There are 4,675 active cases in the state. Oklahoma County has the most active cases with 1,309, followed by Tulsa County with 1,099, Cleveland County with 297, Canadian County has 157, McCurtain County with 134, Rogers County with 117 and Okmulgee County with 103.
