The Oklahoma City Thunder announced plans on Tuesday for reduced seating and new safety precautions at games.
When the season starts on December 22nd, Chesapeake Energy Arena will mark a six feet distance between groups of fans who will be required to wear masks inside the building. The physical distancing will extend to common spaces, like elevators and restrooms, and hand sanitizing stations will be located throughout the venue.
The team and arena's new protocols were developed in collaboration with the City of Oklahoma City, OKC-County Health Department, OU Health and the NBA.
Officials say they are also implementing contactless ticket scanning and concession purchases, as well as an upgraded the HVAC system in response to the pandemic.
