Coronavirus Updates: Malls Close, OU Spring Football Game Canceled

Two Oklahoma malls - Penn Square Mall in Oklahoma City and Woodland Hills Mall in Tulsa - will close at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, due to the coronavirus. The move comes as their owner, Simon Property Group, announced it will close all its malls and retail properties nationwide.


The University of Oklahoma has canceled their spring football game, which was set for April 18th, due to the coronavirus pandemic.

OU Athletic Director Joe Castiglione announced the cancellation on WWLS radio in Oklahoma City on Wednesday afternoon. Castiglione said he didn't see any way the game would to happen, nor when the football team could resume practice.


Scissortail Park in Oklahoma City is temporarily closing its playground for additional caution and social distancing. The rest of its gardens and ground will remain open.
