Nearly a year after voters approved Medicaid expansion, the program is open for enrollment.
When Oklahomans passed State Question 802 last summer, they opened SoonerCare to more working adults. Expanded Medicaid is available to adults ages 19-64 whose income is 138% of the federal poverty level or lower. For an individual, that’s about $17,800 a year, and for a family of four, about $36,600.
Enrollment opened on June 1. Oklahomans can apply online at www.mysoonercare.org or call the SoonerCare helpline at 800-987-7767.
State health officials say that about 200,000 Oklahomans will qualify.
