Science Museum Oklahoma presents a traveling exhibit that explores the science of rock music.  The museum’s resident “Celestial Wizard,” Wayne Harris-Wyrick, took a break from running the planetarium to show KOSU's Nikole Robinson Carroll around.  He says rock music is important because it reminds us of our roots and our development as a human race.

For the second part of our series on ghost towns, KOSU’s Quinton Chandler traveled to the town of Sulphur Springs, known today simply as Sulphur. The town is just a short distance from one of the country’s National Parks, the Chickasaw National Recreation Area – home of the healing waters.

While dozens of Oklahoma bands drove several hours to play SXSW, two Stillwater natives only had to drive a few miles. That’s because they’ve lived in Austin for eight years.

Singer Daniel Pruitt and guitarist Garrett Hellman grew up in Stillwater from an early age. They played in the band Shiloh Fivecoat and both went to Oklahoma State University – Daniel studied English and Garrett studied Electrical Engineering.

The Woody Guthrie Center hosted a panel at the Buffalo Lounge on Wednesday with representatives of four Oklahoma music festivals.

Those represented were the Woody Guthrie Folk Festival, the Norman Music FestivalACM Rocks Bricktown and the Center of the Universe Festival.

The South by Southwest Tradeshow Exhibit is an impressive sight. Hundreds of booths fill the exhibit hall with large companies such as IBM next to small video game developers and smartphone app startups.

The Buffalo Lounge hosted an elevator pitch competition on Monday night, where ten Oklahoma entrepreneurs each gave a 90-second elevator pitch and competed for $10,000 in prizes.

Thousands of creatives from music, film, interactive and many others invade Austin, Texas this week for the 2014 South by Southwest Conference and Festival.

In its fourth consecutive year, The Buffalo Lounge provides exposure for participating Oklahoma companies and talent, while promoting the state as a front runner in the film, music and interactive industries. The Buffalo Lounge hosts three days of Oklahoma film, interactive and music events, starting today in Austin, Texas.

Next week, dozens of Oklahoma bands will head down to Austin, Texas for the South by Southwest Music Festival. One of those bands is Oklahoma City's Skating Polly.

At an age when many are figuring out who they are and what they want to do, Millsap is exactly where he wants to be.

KOSU listeners might know Brent Weber as our commentator for Sports Talk with Michael Cross, but his latest project takes on a whole different subject: individuals with severe disabilities.  Brent talks about the labor of love that has become his documentary, “Real Live Angels.”  It will be screened at the Paramount on Oklahoma City’s Film Row this Saturday.
