Pamela Adlon

Adlon nearly stopped working on her FX show after co-creator Louis C.K. admitted to sexual misconduct with multiple women. She severed ties and, after an extended break, decided to continue the show.

Adlon has four titles in the credits of the FX comedy series Better Things: actress, writer, director and producer. "I want to elevate the mundane ..." she says. "This is the way I live my life."

Adlon's new FX series is based on her own experience raising three girls as a single mom. Her daughters are "very much a part" of the show, she says.

The veteran voice-over actress, who played 12-year-old Bobby Hill on Fox's animated comedy King of the Hill, now co-stars in the raunchy Showtime drama.
