Iraq's Arab Neighbors: Syria

Most of Iraq's Arab neighbors opposed the U.S.-led invasion in 2003. As violence continues to roil Iraq, NPR's Deborah Amos begins a five-part series, Bordering on Instability, on how the war has affected those neighboring countries. The first report is on Syria, where reforms have stalled and political Islam is on the rise again.
