The 39-year-old NFL veteran has a torn left Achilles tendon that will require season-ending surgery, New York Jets coach Robert Saleh announced Tuesday.

With Rodgers sidelined by the diagnosis and league protocols on Sunday, the Packers lost 13-7 to the Kansas City Chiefs. He remains at home as part of a league-imposed 10-day quarantine.

The Green Bay Packers quarterback is not vaccinated, but previously said he was "immunized." An NFL spokesman said no doctor for the league ever communicated with Rodgers about the vaccine.

Prevea Health said the company and the Green Bay Packers star mutually agreed to end a nine-year partnership after Rodgers explained why he's avoided getting a COVID-19 vaccine endorsed by the NFL.

Green Bay would not explicitly confirm whether Rodgers tested positive and would not comment on whether he is vaccinated. Multiple media reports say the reigning NFL MVP is unvaccinated.
