New York Times journalist Jonathan Martin to discuss new book 'This Will Not Pass' in OKC, Tulsa

The author of a book detailing the tumultuous 2020 election and its aftermath is coming to Oklahoma.

This Will Not Pass: Trump, Biden, and the Battle for America's Future by Jonathan Martin and Alexander Burns focuses on the heated race between then-President Donald Trump and now-President Joe Biden, culminating in the Jan. 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol.

In this interview, Martin talks about Trump's underwhelming political rally in Tulsa in June 2020 and an argument between Oklahoma Republican Congressman Markwayne Mullin and Colorado Democratic Congressman Jason Crow the morning of Jan. 6.

He also retells a story of rioters banging on the office door of Oklahoma Republican Congressman Tom Cole as he was sheltering inside, and examines the struggles of Biden's first year in the Oval Office.

Martin is discussing This Will Not Pass at Full Circle Bookstore in Oklahoma City on May 24, including a discussion moderated by OKC Mayor David Holt.

Martin will also discuss the book at a May 26 event hosted by Magic City Books at Congregation B’nai Emunah, 17th and Peoria, in Tulsa.
