BJ Barham of American Aquarium

American Aquarium will release their seventh studio album, Things Change, this Friday. The album is a personal and a political one, coming on the heels of a band member overhaul, changes in frontman BJ Barham's personal life and the 2016 Presidental election.

In this interview with KOSU's John Cooper, Barham talks about overcoming a "creative wasteland" and why he chose to record their new album in Tulsa. Along the way, he expresses his love for Tulsa hotspots Lone Wolf Banh Mi and Chimera, as well as his appreciation for Oklahoma music, past and present.

John Cooper was part of KOSU's staff from April 2015 to May 2019. He was born and raised in Oklahoma City and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Oklahoma State University.
