Westwood Elementary School in Stillwater, Okla.

Police in Stillwater say an elementary school was evacuated after a woman who didn't have children at the school made threatening remarks to school workers.

Capt. Kyle Gibbs says the unidentified woman was taken into custody Wednesday and no one was harmed in the incident.

Gibbs says Westwood Elementary School was evacuated after the woman showed up at the school and made threatening comments to officials. Police evacuated the building as a precaution. Parents were asked to pick up their children at a nearby Career Tech site.

Stillwater Interim Superintendent Gay Washington says the entire procedure was orderly.

"We drill all the time and this was just an example of why we drill. It was like a machine. Our administrators gave very clear directions. Our office staff could not have done a better job."

Gibbs says the woman may have been struggling with some potential mental health issues. She has been taken into protective custody for a mental health evaluation to determine the need for treatment.
