The City of Stillwater is welcoming people from all over to Oklahoma State University's Homecoming week.
Officials are anticipating an economic impact between $4 million and $8 million, as tens of thousands of football fans come to the college town this weekend.
Visit Stillwater President and CEO Cristy Morrison graduated from OSU in 1989, and says she’s proud of the Cowboy faithful who come to celebrate outside of the stadium.
“When they see some of the opposing team fans, they always invite them into their tailgate, and have a good time, have a hamburger, or a hot dog or whatever. And, I think it’s definitely an opportunity to showcase how friendly we are, and that Stillwater truly is America’s Friendliest College Town.”
Homecoming week began on Sunday with turning the campus fountain orange and continues with the “Walk Around” Friday night and the Homecoming Parade Saturday morning at 9 a.m.
The celebration culminates at 3 p.m. with the Cowboys' game against the Baylor Bears at Boone Pickens Stadium.
