Oklahoma's Socially-Distanced Activities This Holiday Season

Looking for some socially-distanced holiday fun? KOSU is compiling a list of the activities you can experience in a safe manner this holiday season around Oklahoma.

Check out the list below to plan your next socially-distanced event:

Yukon's 'Christmas in the Park'

Dubbed 'Oklahoma's Largest Drive-thru Light Display' - visitors can drive along nearly three miles of 500 light displays in Yukon to see five million twinkling lights. There are areas in the park to walk through light displays and also a pay-to-ride Santa Express Train that has it's own views of the park. The park also features a 30-foot RGB (red, green, blue) Christmas Tree is synced to Christmas tunes for animations and dancing lights. The admission drive through the park is free, but donations are accepted at both the Chisholm Trail Park Exit and the City Park exit. Yukon's 'Christmas in the Park' runs from 6 p.m. - 11 p.m. every night through New Year's Eve. Learn more about 'Christmas in the Park' here.

Edmond Electric's 'Luminance - An Enchanted Stroll'

Open daily from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. until January 3rd, Luminance is a dog-friendly, walk-thru holiday light display open to the public at Edmond's Mitch Park.  Mitch Park also has an outdoor ice-rink to enjoy before or after visiting the walk-thru light display. The ice-rink is open until January 4th and tickets range from $8-$12 dollars. Mitch Park is located at 1501 W. Covell Rd. 

Purcell's 'Lights From The Heart'

Now through New Year's Eve you can drive through over two miles of holiday lights at Purcell's 'Lights From The Heart.' Opening every evening from 5:30-10, you can drive around Purcell City Lake, making your way through tunnels of lights, viewing illuminated toy soldiers, snowflakes, candy canes and more. The admission to the park is free, but donations are accepted. You can get to the light display by taking I-35 exit 91 & 95 and following the signs to the Purcell City Lake. Chickasha Festival of Light

Another well-known driving light display can be found in Chickasha, Oklahoma. Chickasha Festival of Light is open Sunday-Thursday evenings from 6-10 and Friday and Saturday from 6-11. Drive or walk around Shannon Springs Park's 43 acres of light displays. The park features foodtrucks, animated displays, ice skating, a ferris wheel and more. Ride OKC's Holiday Light Ride

Bike enthusiasts can sign up to experience downtown Oklahoma City's holiday lights in a whole new way. Take stroll through Automobile Alley and Heritage Hills to see festive light displays while listneing to holiday tunes. If you're worried about catching a chill, you also be covered with hot chocolate from Katiebug's Sips and Sweets. The holiday light ride dates that are left are on December 11th and 17th. Twin Bridges Park of Lights in Fairland

Another drive through light display in northeast Oklahoma is the Twin Bridges Park of Lights in Fairland. The lights are located at Twin Bridges Park at 14801 S Hwy 137, Fairland, OK 74343. The event features over 40 brightly lit holiday displays in Grand Lake State Park. The lights are available to be viewed through December 30th. You can learn more about this event here

Bartlesville's 'Fantasy Land of Lights'

Now until December 30th, you can drive through Bartlesville's Johnstone Park to view Christmas light displays. The park is open daily from 6 to 10 p.m. Johnstone Park is located at 100 N Cherokee Ave, Bartlesville, OK 74003. Admission to Fantasy Land of Lights is free, but donations are accepted. Rhema Christmas Lights Extravaganza in Broken Arrow

Located at Rhema Bible Church at 1025 W. Kenosha Street in Broken Arrow - you can view more than 2 million lights through New Years Day. The options to view the lights are walking around the campus and Rhema park, taking a horse-drawn carriage or driving through the campus. The light display is open daily in the evening from 5:30 to 11:30 until January 1, 2021. This year features a 22-foot tree surrounded by lit metal trees. Admission to the Rhema Christmas Lights Extravaganza is free, but donations are accepted. Learn more about the light display here

Winter Wonderland Christmas Light Tour at Pine Lodge Resort

This event features a free drive-thru tour at Pine Lodge Resort located at 33635 Dock Road, Afton, OK 74331 near Grand Lake. The event is nightly through New Years Day from 5-10 p.m. The event has over 400,000 lights and displays. You can learn more about Winter Wonderland Christmas Light Tour here
