The NCAA has banned the Oklahoma State men’s basketball program from postseason tournaments for next season.
Friday's ruling is the result of a Level I violation involving former associate head coach Lamont Evans. Evans was sentenced in 2019 to three months in prison for accepting bribes to push players at OSU and South Carolina to certain agents and financial advisers.
The NCAA also placed the program on three years of probation, took away three scholarship slots over the next three years and imposed other recruiting restrictions.
In a statement, OSU says they are stunned by the severity of the penalties and will file an immediate appeal.
