Oklahoma Sees Nine New Deaths, 894 New COVID-19 Cases And 820 Backlogged Cases

In a Tuesday afternoon press conference, Oklahoma health officials reported that a backlog of 820 new cases of COVID-19 has been added to the state’s total. Oklahoma reported abnormally low new case totals on Sundayand Monday.

Interim Health Commissioner Lance Frye said the state’s COVID-19 dashboard crashed several times this past weekend, so the cases couldn’t be reported, but those infected were still notified. He said the system will be fixed in the coming days.

The 820 backlogged cases plus the 894 new cases brought Tuesday’s total of new cases to 1,714. The state's total now sits at 27,147.

There were also nine new deaths reported. They are as follows:

  • Three in Oklahoma County, one female in the 36 - 49 age group and two males in the 65 or older age group.
  • Two in Tulsa County, two females in the 65 or older age group.
  • One in McCurtain County, one male in the 50 - 64 age group.

  • One in Pottawatomie County, one female in the 65 or older age group.
  • One in Rogers County, one male in the 65 or older age group.
