Oklahoma Sees Highest Daily Increase In Coronavirus Infections

Oklahoma had another record daily increase in coronavirus infections on Tuesday. The 858 new cases represent a five percent increase in total reported cases, with the state's total now at 17,220.
Five new deaths were reported, bringing the state's death toll to 404. They are as follows:

  • One in Carter County, a male in the 65 and older age group.
  • One in Delaware County, a female in the 65 and older age group.
  • One in Garvin County, a male in the 50 - 64 age group.
  • One in McCurtain County, a male in the 65 and older age group.
  • One in Muskogee County, one female in the 65 and older age group.

Oklahoma has totaled 3,463 new cases of the coronavirus in the past seven days, an average of 495 per day.
13,005 people — more than 75 percent of the total cases — have since been classified as having recovered from the virus. 426 Oklahomans are currently hospitalized as either confirmed positive COVID-19 cases or under investigation for the virus.

There are 3,811 active cases in the state. Oklahoma County has the most active cases with 1,030, followed by Tulsa County with 1,000, Cleveland County with 258, McCurtain County with 160, Canadian County has 109 and Payne County with 101.
