The United Methodist Church, which hosts more Boy Scouts than any other denomination in Oklahoma, have decided how to proceed after the group opened leadership up to gay men.
Spokesman Joseph Harris says the conference is allowing individual churches to make their own decision on affiliation with the Boy Scouts or hiring leaders.
"Unlike the Mormon Church which is making the decision whether or not they want to pull out completely, the decision with the United Methodist at this point will be left up to individual churches to decide."
Harris says he hasn’t heard from any church leaders, but when membership was opened to gay boys in 2013, no Methodist churches kicked their boy scout troops out.
"As a matter of fact, because there were some churches who did stop doing that, some folks who were participating in those churches started participating in the ones that we had in our churches."
Harris says it will also be up to the individual churches when it comes to the hiring of Boy Scout leaders.
The Boy Scouts of America has already issued a statement saying it would defend any institutions from lawsuits if it refuses to hire anyone.
