Muscogee (Creek) Nation Launches New 3D Mammography Service

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and Muscogee (Creek) Nation used that theme to unveil new technology at two of its clinics to screen for the disease. It's called 3D Genius Mammography. Officials with the Nation say it's more accurate, is able to detect cancer earlier and it can find more invasive cancers.

The new mammography service is available at the Creek Nation Community Hospital in Okemah and the Koweta Indian Health Center in Coweta. It's available to both tribal and non-tribal citizens.

Statistics from the National Cancer Institute show that one in eight women will develop breast cancer in their lifetime.
