KOSU will host a free concert in Tulsa this Sunday afternoon.
Headlining the bill will be Matt Stansberry & The Romance, a nine-piece Oklahoma City rock ’n’ roll band influenced by r&b and soul. The band's throwback sound is often compared to that of contemporaries like St. Paul and the Broken Bones and JD McPherson.
Stansberry says their music is appealing to fans of all ages.
"We're not just straight copying anybody. We're just influenced by some really classic ways of doing stuff. And I don't see it as us trying to hold music back. I just think we're taking those qualities and those things that we really enjoyed about it and just doing our thing with it."
Matt Stansberry & the Romance, Dane & the Soup & Stephen Salewon will play KOSU's all ages concert at Guthrie Green in Tulsa this Sunday afternoon, running from 2:30 to 6:30. The event also features trick or treating and a costume contest.
