Eight New Deaths, 1,089 New COVID-19 Cases In Oklahoma

Oklahoma health officials reported eight new deaths on Wednesday, bringing the state's total to 970. They are as follows:

  • Two in Tulsa County, one female and one male in the 65 or older age group.
  • One in Cherokee County, one male in the 65 or older age group.
  • One in Creek County, one female in the 50 - 64 age group.
  • One in Delaware County, one male in the 65 or older age group.
  • One in McIntosh County, one male in the 50 - 64 age group.
  • One in Oklahoma County, one male in the 65 or older age group.
  • One in Pottawatomie County, one male in the 65 or older age group.

There were also 1,089 new cases of COVID-19 reported. The state has seen a total of 80,161 positive cases since March.
Oklahoma has reported 7,877 new cases and 44 deaths due to the coronavirus in the past seven days, an average of 1,125 cases and six deaths per day.

66,779 people — more than 82 percent of the total cases — have since been classified as having recovered from the virus. 612 Oklahomans are currently hospitalized as either confirmed positive COVID-19 cases or under investigation for the virus.

There are 12,412 active cases in the state. Oklahoma County has the most active cases with 2,327, followed by Tulsa County with 1,447, Cleveland County with 887, Woodward County with 845, Canadian County with 356, Payne County with 350, Garfield County with 324, Craig County with 311, Grady County with 307, Rogers County with 278, Cherokee County with 243, Muskogee County with 231, Pottawatomie County with 231, Pittsburg County with 212, LeFlore County with 193, Beckham County with 187, Comanche County with 178, Bryan County with 178, Custer County with 177, Sequoyah County with 160, McCurtain County with 150, Creek County with 140, Wagoner County with 139, Texas County with 136, Adair County with 132, McClain County with 131, Kay County with 127, Ottawa County with 119, Caddo County with 108, Okmulgee County with 104 and Mayes County with 100.
