deadCenter Film Festival Begins 19th Edition

Jun 6, 2019

deadCenter Film Festival enters its 19th year Thursday and runs through Sunday.

It all starts with the off-beat comedy feature film “Arrows of Outrageous Fortune” screening at 5:30 p.m. this afternoon in the Devon Energy Theater at Harkins Bricktown Cinema.

Director Mickey Reece says it’s a great way to spend the weekend just celebrating the art of filmmaking.

“The parties are awesome. The movies are awesome, and the crowds are great. It’s just a perfect festival all together. It’s a big festival. Obviously, it should be even bigger. It should be like a South by Southwest at this point.”

The deadCenter Festival plans screenings at Harkins, the Oklahoma City Museum of Art and outdoors at the Myriad Gardens Great Lawn.

Organizers selected about 140 films for the festival, including more than 20 feature-length movies, 100-plus short films and 10 Virtual Reality 360 films.
