Coronavirus Updates: Festival of the Arts Canceled, Kevin Durant Has COVID-19

The 2020 edition of Festival of the Arts in Oklahoma City has been canceled, due to the coronavirus pandemic. The decision was unanimously made during a special board meeting on Tuesday.

“It is with a heavy heart that we make this decision," said Peter Dolese, Executive Director of Arts Council Oklahoma City. "Each year, Festival of the Arts brings in 5,000 volunteers, 144 artists worldwide, and an average attendance of 100,000 people per day. We felt that it was impossible to consider putting all those people at risk.”

Organizers are planning on bringing the festival back in April 2021.

The Athletic reports former Oklahoma City Thunder star Kevin Durant is one of four members of the Brooklyn Nets to test positive for the coronavirus. Durant says he is feeling fine and not showing any symptoms.

"Everyone be careful, take care of yourself and quarantine," Durant told The Athletic. "We're going to get through this."

Durant and the other three unidentified Nets players join Utah Jazz stars Rudy Gobert and Donovan Mitchell and the Detroit Pistons' Christian Wood as NBA players known to have tested positive for the virus.
