Beginning Oct. 19 at 8 p.m. CT, KOSU will broadcast a special national call-in program called The Middle with host Jeremy Hobson.
The one-hour live show will listen to Americans at a critical moment in our history as they weigh cultural change, an uncertain economy and polarized political discourse. The Middle will also intentionally focus on listeners, voters and the marginalized in the 'middle' of the country.
"It's time we stopped talking about listening to Americans and actually started listening to them," said Hobson. "I grew up in Central Illinois, where people don't spend every waking minute thinking about politics, but they do have a whole lot of sway in our politics."
The four shows will air on successive Wednesday nights, with three leading up to the November election on Oct. 19, Oct. 26 and Nov. 2. There will also be one post-election show on Nov. 9, assessing what happened and how the results foreshadow our collective future.
You can suggest topics for the show at 1-844-4MIDDLE (1-844-464-3353).
Hobson is a familiar voice for our listeners, as the former host of Here and Now and the Marketplace Morning Report. Learn more about The Middle here.
This limited-run program will preempt The Spy, which can still be heard at thespyfm.com.
