Democrats Plan Tough Questions for Condi Rice

Most observers expect Condoleezza Rice to make a smooth transition from White House National Security Advisor to Secretary of State. But at the "advise and consent" confirmation hearing in the U.S. Senate, Democratic lawmakers say they plan to ask Rice some tough questions about the direction in which she might steer the country's foreign policy. NPR's Tavis Smiley speaks with Kiron Skinner, a research fellow at Stanford's Hoover Institution and a member of the Pentagon's Defense Policy Board, and with Antonia Chayes, a former assistant secretary of the Air Force during the Carter administration.
