The Juilliard School in New York City is among the most prestigious and selective arts schools in the country -- out of every 10 students that apply, only one gets in. So when all five siblings of the Brown family of Utah were accepted to the school, it was a remarkable achievement -- a first in Juilliard's history.

Today, this family quintet of young pianists is a professional ensemble. Known as The 5 Browns -- Desirae, 25; Deondra, 24; Gregory, 22; Melody, 20; and Ryan, 19 -- made their official concert debut in Houston in the spring of 2004, where all five were born. This spring, they embark on a U.S. concert tour to promote their debut album, The 5 Browns. They join NPR's Fred Child for a performance in Studio 4A.
