Thursday, September 2

It's Throwback Thursday on the Oklahoma Music Minute, where we celebrate Oklahoma's rich music history. The country music career of "Pretty Miss" Norma Jean (Wellston, Oklahoma City) began early, as a radio host on KLPR at age 12 and Merl Lindsay's tour mate at age 16. She's arguably most well known as a regular on The Porter Wagoner Show. Find out more about her and her music here.

Friday, September 3

The Cracks are from Norman. Find more of their music at instagram.com/thecracks_band.

The Oklahoma Music Minute airs weekdays on KOSU at 6:19 a.m., 8:19 a.m., 11:31 a.m., 1:20 p.m., 3:18 p.m., and 5:18 p.m.

Matthew Viriyapah is KOSU's production assistant and host of the music podcast Songwriters & Tour Riders.
