Since first emerging from New York's underground music scene, TV on the Radio has blossomed into a band of genre-fusing rock masterminds. The group's style — often haunting, usually mysterious — combines elements of jazz, alternative rock, soul, hip-hop and electro-pop.
With a sound driven by waves of synths and rich percussion, last year's Dear Science found its way to the top of many critics' year-end best-of lists. While TV on the Radio's sound has shifted toward brighter pop in recent years, its music invariably sounds honest and bold.
In this session, TV on the Radio's members explain how they approached Dear Science and offer their reaction to the widespread praise it's received.
