Dave Gahan Empties His 'Hourglass'

David Gahan is best known for his role as the lead singer in the '80s electro-pop band Depeche Mode. His soulful baritone voice and stylish delivery gave the band the kind of appeal a pack of synthesizers has difficulty achieving alone.

Gahan went solo in 2003 with his debut, Paper Monsters, which sold well and spawned the hit single "Dirty Sticky Floors." Hourglass is Gahan's latest album, which features many collaborations and more electronic textures than heard on his previous album.
