Britten's Sea Interludes, in a Landlocked Setting

Festival Orchestra conductor Mark Wigglesworth.
Festival Orchestra conductor Mark Wigglesworth.

A scrappy little fishing village at dawn. Sunday-morning church bells. Saturday night under the moonlight. A storm at sea. These are the images of the four Sea Interludes by Benjamin Britten, from his 1945 opera Peter Grimes. Britten's Sea Interludes come floating out over the landlocked mountains of the Grand Teton Music Festival. The Festival Orchestra is conducted by Mark Wigglesworth.
