Louisiana Philharmonic Reunites for Benefit

Along with thousands of other people, the members of the Louisiana Philharmonic were scattered around the country by Hurricane Katrina. On Tuesday, the Nashville Symphony organized the New Orleans-based orchestra's first performance since the storm: a benefit concert in Nashville by the regrouped orchestra.

From that concert, violinist Mark O'Connor joins the Louisiana Philharmonic to play "Amazing Grace." Then the orchestra performs the Largo movement from the Symphony No. 5 by Dmitri Shostakovich. Klauspeter Seibel, the LPO Principal Guest Conductor, and Music Director Designate Carlos Miguel Prieto conduct.
