Conductor Marin Alsop Tackles Brahms

Joining the ranks of a select group of conductors, Marin Alsop has launched a project with the London Philharmonic to record the four symphonies of Brahms. Symphonies 2 and 3 come out in October and the fourth will be released with Brahms' Haydn Variations in 2006. The first symphony, recently released on the Naxos label, has received widespread acclaim.

NPR's Fred Child speaks with Alsop about the daunting task.
