Chloe Bennett-Steele will be the new environment and science reporter for StateImpact Oklahoma, a collaboration of NPR stations in Oklahoma that includes KOSU, KGOU, KWGS, KCCU and High Plains Public Radio.
In her role with StateImpact, Bennett-Steele will report in-depth stories on environmental issues, natural resources, scientific exploration and research, infrastructure, and the impact of science on our planet, lives and future.
She starts her new role on Nov. 18.
Bennett-Steele is a native of north Texas. She holds a bachelor's degree in media studies at the University of San Francisco and a master’s degree in journalism from the CUNY Newmark School of Journalism, with a focus on science and health reporting.
Previously, Bennett-Steele was a climate reporter for the Adirondack Explorer. She has also been a contributing writer for The Dallas Morning News, community reporter for The Plano Star Courier, and was an intern for the Texas Standard program.
