492 New COVID-19 Cases In Oklahoma

492 new infections were reported by Oklahoma health officials on Sunday, for a total of 432,483 positive cases since last March. In the past seven days, Oklahoma has reported 3,486 new cases for an average of 498 infections per day.
Last week, the state announced it would no longer report death statistics and rather begin using a Provisional Death Count from the CDC and NCHS in its daily updates. That number reflects COVID deaths based on death certificates. Prior to that, Oklahoma's reported death count was about 2,500 deaths shy of what the CDC was reporting.

Under the new standard, there have been a total of 7,486 deaths due to the virus since last March.

415,852 people — more than 96 percent of the total cases — have since been classified as having recovered from the virus.

There are 11,930 active cases in the state.
