Oklahoma health officials report 222 new cases of COVID-19 were confirmed on Friday, representing the state's largest single-day increase in new cases.

Two more Oklahomans have died due to COVID-19, increasing the state's death toll to 359. The deaths occurred between June 1 and June 10. The deaths reported Friday include:

  • One in Comanche County, a male in the 65 and older age group.
  • One in Muskogee County, a male in the 65 and older age group.

The 222 case increase since Thursday mean the total positive cases of the coronavirus in the state now stand at 7,848. That's a nearly three percent increase in total reported cases.

6,391 people — more than 81 percent of the total cases — have since been classified as having recovered from the virus. 154 Oklahomans are currently hospitalized as either confirmed positive COVID-19 cases or under investigation for the virus.
