Author David Grann announced on Twitter last week that The New York Times bestseller Killers of the Flower Moon will be adapted into a book for younger readers and released on Nov. 16.
After many parents and my own children told me they wished Killers of the Flower Moon would be accessible to younger readers, it's been a bit of a passion project to adapt it. And I'm happy to announce its finally done & will be published on Nov 16. https://t.co/O9knwy13x4

The non-fiction book tells the story of The Osage Murders, which occurred in the early 1920s. At that time, at least two dozen Osage people were killed for their land and oil wealth by white guardians. The investigations into the murders, Grann writes, led to the birth of the modern FBI.
Washington Post editor and Osage Tribal member Dennis McAuliffe Jr. writes in the foreword of the edition that the story shows middle school-aged readers “what racism, individual and systemic looks like. And once you see it and recognize it on your own, you’ll always be able to spot it… and counter it.”
Meanwhile, Martin Scorsese is directing a film based on Grann's 2017 edition of the book, starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Robert De Niro. Film production began in Oklahoma in April of this year and wrapped in early October.
