OKC's Inaugural Theatre Crude Fringe Festival Begins Wednesday

Oklahoma City’s first ever theatre fringe festival stats this week.

The inaugural Theatre Crude Fringe Festival begins September 25th and runs through October Sixth with a total of ten one-hour performance pieces.

Co-Founder Adam Brand says fringe festivals allow the public to see new art from different perspectives and styles of performances in a single place.

“Since the cost is so low to participate in the fringe festival, it allows artists to test out work that, if they were relying on ticket sales to do it, it might be cost prohibitive. But, it gives  great avenue for expression and experimentation.”

The Theatre Crude Fringe Festival takes place mainly at The Capitol View Event Center on Northeast 50th and Lincoln Boulevard with a showing at The Venue on Automobile Alley, September 26th.

Five of the shows are from local production companies like Next Stage Theatre and Perpetual Motion Dance, while five are from other parts of the country.
