After months of development, the Oklahoma State Department of Education has released drafts of new proposed education standards.
State Superintendent of Public Instruction Joy Hofmeister wants people to review the standards for mathematics and English language arts and fill out an online survey. That is why input from education stakeholders — from teachers to the general public — is critical to this process.”
The standards are the subject of a town hall meeting Tuesday, July 7 at the Cox Convention Center in downtown Oklahoma City during the EngageOK Summer Education Conference. Other sessions will allow participants to ask the standards-writing teams questions. The town hall meeting and conference sessions are open to the public.
