Glitterball: Moulin Rouge at Tower Theatre Brian Hearn and Kevin Ely will be honored as Oklahoma Film Festival ICONS by deadCenter Film on January 19 at the 2019 Glitter Ball. Hearn founded and led the film program at the Oklahoma City Museum of Art for 19 years. Ely is an award winning filmmaker and Creative Director for Life Church. Both men served as feature film programmers for the deadCenter Film Festival for more than a decade, attracting high end films and cultivating an audience for independent film here in Oklahoma. “Brian Hearn created the independent film scene in Oklahoma City,” according to deadCenter Executive Director Lance McDaniel. “Brian worked hand in hand with Kevin Ely for years to bring the best independent films to deadCenter, cementing the festival as one of the coolest film festivals in the world.” Glitter Ball is the winter dance party and art extravaganza presented by deadCenter Film and Kindt Events. This year’s party features a Moulin Rouge theme with more music, dancing, and visual spectacle than ever before. The event takes place on Saturday, January 19, 2019, at Tower Theatre on 23rd Street. Tickets are $100 for general admission and VIP seated tables are available starting at $1,000. Tickets may be purchased online: http://www.deadcenterfilm.org/glitterball. Glitter Ball attendees are eligible for a discounted stay at 21c Museum Hotel the night of the event. Proceeds will benefit deadCenter Film.
